ISSUES

Clear & Accountable Government

Government should be understandable, transparent, and responsive to the people it serves. Families deserve clear answers about how decisions are made and how their tax dollars are spent.

I'll work to ensure legislation gets reviewed in a reasonable timeframe, explained in plain language, and held accountable to the people it impacts. That means opposing last-minute amendments that bypass public review and supporting longer comment periods on major decisions. If a deal changes at the last minute, you stop and read before you sign — government should work the same way.

When government is clear and accountable, trust follows.

Rural Economic Stability

Farmers, local business owners, and working families shouldn't have to guess what their future holds because of sudden shifts in policy or unclear rules.

I support responsible, predictable policies that protect long-term investments and allow families and communities to plan ahead with confidence. That includes looking carefully at property valuation systems — not to raise taxes, but to make sure the numbers are steady, fair, and don't blindside working families or landowners. Any investment of public dollars has to show measurable results. I'll push for transparency on cost and clear evidence before committing to anything.

Education & Local Schools

Every student deserves access to a good education, and in many of our communities, the local public school is the backbone of the town.

Shifting funding away from rural schools creates pressure on working families and uncertainty for local districts. Most rural families don't have private school options nearby — redirecting funds doesn't expand choice for them, it just cuts what's already there. I support protecting local schools and making sure investments go toward students, not bureaucracy.

I've navigated the special needs system as a parent. I know what it looks like when it works, and I know what it looks like when it fails. I'll advocate for the resources and accountability that make the difference.

Fairness Under the Law

I believe in treating others the way I'd want to be treated. That's not a political position — it's a basic standard.

Policy should protect privacy between a person and their doctor, ensure equal treatment under the law, and keep government out of personal medical decisions. We can respect differences in belief while still making sure everyone is treated fairly and responsibly. I'm not interested in using government to single people out. I'm interested in making sure it works the same way for everyone.
